Grimsay Health Walks

Meet at 11am, fortnightly on Wednesday

A Health Walk is a short, social guided walk adapted to suit the needs of the walkers. The walks are free and can be 10-60 minutes. Why walking? Walking is a simple way to increase your physical activity. It’s good for all round health, can help improve your mood and it’s free – you just need comfy footwear. Our walks are on and around Grimsay and are usually on roads, tracks and sometimes over the sand at low tide. Please dress appropriately! If it’s bad weather, we do strength and balance exercises in our Activity Room.

Exhibitions and Displays

Material from our heritage collection is always on display, through photo albums, videos, and permanent items. We also present exhibitions of materials from our own heritage programme and archive collections and occasionally by external organisations. These can be viewed at any time Ceann na h-Àirigh is open. Details of our current exhibition can be found on the Upcoming Events page.

Grimsay Boat Trail

The Grimsay Boat Trail links three locations on Grimsay with our Grimsay Boat Museum, interpreting the past and present of the unique Grimsay workboat and Grimsay fishing. These sites – at Kenary, the Grimsay Boatshed and Bagh Mor – are self-guided and always open. A map is available at Ceann na h-Àirigh.
