Grimsay Market & Teas

If it’s Wednesday, it’s market day! Our weekly local produce market and teas are open 1 – 4 pm every Wednesday, year-round at Ceann na h-Àirigh [except Christmas & New Year weeks]. The market sells a wide range of quality local products from Uist producers and makers – see our markets page for more information.

We also host a range of activities alongside the market from October to Easter, including: live music sessions, craft workshops and seasonal events.

Talks on Tuesday

Our talks are held at 7pm on the first Tuesday of every month (October – March) at Ceann na h-Àirigh.

Topics are detailed on our Upcoming Events page and are generally on a natural history, heritage or cultural theme. All are welcome, refreshments are provided and entry is by donation.

Exhibitions and Displays

Material from our heritage collection is always on display, through photo albums, videos, and permanent items. We also present exhibitions of materials from our own heritage programme and archive collections and occasionally by external organisations. These can be viewed at any time Ceann na h-Àirigh is open. Details of our current exhibition can be found on the Upcoming Events page.

Grimsay Boat Trail

The Grimsay Boat Trail links three locations on Grimsay, interpreting the past and present of the unique Grimsay workboat and Grimsay fishing. These sites – at Kenary, the Grimsay Boatshed and Bagh Mor – are self-guided and always open. A map and guide is available at Ceann na h-Àirigh.
